HB PARIS. Revenue rose last quarter by one percent to 25.99 billion euros, the group announced on Thursday after trading in Europe. The figures were broadly in line with the expectations of analysts surveyed by Reuters. In its home market of the group, which accounts for 40 percent of total sales were virtually unchanged year on year at 11.15 billion euros. For 2009, the supermarket chain expects a profit before tax and amortization of around 2.78 billion euros.
The biggest growth market for the company was active in 35 countries in the past quarter of Latin America with an increase of 12.4 percent. Carrefour according to the U.S. rival Wal-Mart’s second largest retailer in the world.
