FRANKFURT (Dow Jones) – The European central bank (ECB ) expects no sharp increase in rates in the European financial market in the fourth quarter , when the lion’s share of ECB credit is due to commercial banks .
"I would at this stage, no significant increase in market interest rates forecast , " Governing Council member Nout Wellink said in an interview published on Tuesday with the news agency Market News International ( MNI ).
Wellink that the ECB would reconsider its withdrawal from the Special Cash instruments , if it fears negative effects would be on the economy. "Once we start with the return , we will consider all relevant aspects. If we fear that is at the moment a negative impact on the economic situation, we should reconsider our plans in any case , "assured the governor of the Dutch central bank.
