Siemens receives additional order for wind turbines from Canada


MUNICH (Dow Jones) – The Munich technology group Siemens, in its energy sector, a follow-on order from Canada 43 wind turbines will. To the Canadian Renewable Energy Systems (RES) Canada Inc will have an installed capacity of 100 megawatts (MW) supplied, such as Siemens AG announced on Wednesday. At the Wednesday morning the DAX Group previously reported, offshore to provide for the German wind farm RIFFGAT.
In one of the industry at offshore facilities for 1 MW power Price of DEM 1,5 up to 2 million EUR estimated, Siemens can provide for RIFFGAT accordingly expect an order from 150 to 200 million. The order for 43 wind turbines for the wind farm Greenwich, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada follows a Order of equal size, RES Canada in November 2009 for Talbot had made the wind farm. "In the last six Months, orders for Siemens in Canada Wind turbines with a total capacity of more than 600 megawatts secure " said Jan Kjaersgaard, head of Siemens’ wind power business in America.
